Libby and I recently had the pleasure of updating out knowledge on this conference venue with an expertly (but different) hosted tour by Tracey Barnes.
Manly as a destination enables you to conference overlooking one of Sydney’s iconic beaches with its unique lifestyle but with access to the city by ferry in under an hour. The location provides many opportunities for group activities while at the same time being sufficiently isolated from the fervor of the city. However, the distance from the airport can be problematic in both logistics and cost for some groups but this depends upon where/when the delegates are arriving/departing.
The venue has over 200 guest rooms including 72 Ocean View room and 10 x 2 bedroom suites which are ideal for long stay/family or VIP needs. There facility can break down to 9 conference rooms but contains a large pillar-less Grand Ballroom (gala dinner for 420) and a further large area Gilberts Room, both with access to an enclosed terrace overlooking the beach providing a multitude of conference options for delegates and exhibitors alike.
On the ground floor overlooking the beach is Zali’s Restaurant and the relaxed Charlie Bar with the Lobby Bar available as a convenient meet and greet area. The gem however is Sables, located on third floor with either public (ground) or private (from conference floor) access to a relaxed and funky environment ideal for creative “get togethers”, perhaps pre and/or post conference dinner or simply a place to meet your colleagues. This space is only limited by your imagination!
