Libby & I just completed a fabulous famil to Quay West Magenta Shores, about 45 mins drive north on F3 North to the Central Coast and about 3km past “The Entrance”. An easy 1 ½ hours from the city.
We started with a “settler” at the cosy Shallows Bar before meeting with our hosts Sarah and Eliza before commencing a tour of the resort. We were then ushered outside to the golf driving range for some pointers from the local pro Nate who showed tremendous patience in orchestrating a semblance of order in this golf illiterate group but it was great fun. The drinks were also most welcome to settle nerves.
Then we were ushered to a one bedroom villa and unbeknown to us the “drinks crawl” was only just beginning. Justin & Eden had a tray of Bloody Marys for us just to make sure we were not dehydrated and then onto a two bedroom villa and a hands on instruction on making Caprioska’s before finally down to little park area to be met by Steve from Pinnacle for the big shoot off (drinks to relax)…
Following our activities we had time to spruce up and meet at the day spa with our hosts and their trusty bar staff for canapés….and drinks! A wonderful setting to start the evening before setting out to Barretts Restaurant for very tasty degustation dinner complimented with beautiful wines, joined by Lincoln from Pinnacle (straight from a 125km bike race). It was a very relaxed and enjoyable evening.
It is a resort style property with very modern, comfortable 1 – 3 bedroom style villas with lots of space with many overlooking the magnificent golf course or common swimming pool areas. The tennis court provides a venue for an out-door cinema or perhaps a Robbie Williams concert on the big screen for canapés and drinks? The golf course is in the Australia’s top thirty and is a very challenging course and with all the space provides numerous outside dining and activity options, only limited by your imagination. The isolation enables the conference venue to be yours but off site options are also close by.
The venue has an L shaped ballroom which would be comfortable for 100 cabaret style and splits into three. Large windows are present for two sections of the ballroom. In addition there are two boardrooms available in what is a self-contained conference wing with pre-function space. It is deal for corporate groups of up to 70 or smaller executive/client groups for something a little special and intimate.
If the famil is any indication of service delivery then I am sure you are in good hands as it was extremely well run while at the same time being very relaxed. Well done team. Mike Schrafft, Director.
